At Dr Caren’s Complete Chiropractic we take a hands-on, modern approach for the treatment of pain by restoring proper biomechanics to the joints and soft tissue structures of the body.
We use a combination of spinal manipulation, extraspinal manipulation, and manual therapy and at the end of the visit the patient will receive some type of ‘homework’ or rehab to make sure their care continues outside of the office. Dr. Caren believes that patient care is a team effort between both the practitioner and patient and she spends the time to help each patient understand the reasons behind their condition and understand how to prevent reoccurrence.

DIVERSIFIED TECHNIQUE
The most common adjustment technique for Chiropractors, Diversified is when the doctor use gentle quick-thrust motion in order to restore proper movement and alignment in the joints.
DROP-TABLE TECHNIQUE
In this technique, a specially weighted table is used to position the patient properly and comfortably without any twisting but still allowing for specific movement in the specific area desired.
FLEXION/DISTRACTION
A special table that moves in a smooth, rhythmic way allows the doctor to gently stretch and bend the area of treatment without any vigorous or jerking motions.
ACTIVATOR
An activator is a small device that produces a physical impulse by which the doctor can get the desired movement back into the joint.
ELECTRIC STIMULATION
This process uses safe, painless electric pulses through the area of treatment, which simulates the body’s nervous system causing muscle relaxation. EMS can treat constant headaches, numbness of limps and back pain.
CRYOTHERAPY AND MOIST HEAT
Simply put, these are the practices of therapeutic use of temperature on the area of treatment.
KINESIO TAPING/ ROCK TAPING
A process using special tape that strategically lifts and assists movement in order to better control the movement of the treatment area.
MYOFASCIAL RELEASE TECHNIQUE
A form of soft tissue therapy that works by relaxing contracted muscles, increasing circulation and stimulating the stretch reflex of muscles and overlying fascia (connective tissues, for example: around muscles).
TRIGGER POINT THERAPY
The application of pressure to certain specific points of a given muscle, then allowing its release in order to return it to it’s natural range of motion.
NEUROKINETIC THERAPY (NKT)
A technique that utilizes manual muscle testing to help balance muscles and dysfunctional movement patterns.
SELECTIVE FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT ASSESSMENT (SFMA)
A comprehensive assessment used to classify movement patterns and direct manual therapy and therapeutic exercise interventions. This system helps the clinician identify individual movement pattern deficiencies and the provocation of pain within movement patterns that is unique to each individual.
REHABILITATIVE EXERCISES AND STRETCHING
Calisthenic exercises that are designed to improve the range of motion of both active and passive body areas.
DYNAMIC NEUROMUSCULAR REEDUCATION
A revolutionary approach to manual therapy. It works by retraining the posture and movement, with an emphasis on the core (deep stabilizing) muscular system.
